Digital Infrastructure

Digitalization opens up new opportunities for people in the Free State of Thuringia – in everyday life, at work, and in social participation. The prerequisite for this is a high-performance digital infrastructure as a cornerstone of a digital society and a digitalized economy.

With the Information Center for Digital Infrastructure, we determine the status of broadband coverage in a practical and up-to-date manner. This creates a well-founded basis for further state action in the Free State of Thuringia.

We support state actors, Thuringian citizens, and companies with technical expertise in operational processes related to the expansion of digital infrastructures. An important basis for this is the visual preparation and provision of information on the current broadband supply.

Based on various areas of expertise, we also provide strategic support to the Free State of Thuringia in the development of demand-oriented, convergent networks. In doing so, we also consider the construction and expansion of high-performance mobile networks. Because, in addition to wired digital infrastructure, seamless network coverage is becoming increasingly important in everyday life.

Lively, colorful and diverse – that is how our Thuringian city centers should be. A place where trade, gastronomy and commerce flourish, a place where public and cultural life pulsates, a place where residents and guests like to meet and communicate with each other. • Brownfield site cadastre

LEG Thüringen supports the implementation of the national sustainability goal of reducing land consumption nationwide to 30 hectares per day by 2020. The Free State of Thuringia has even set itself the long-term goal of reducing net land consumption or net land sealing to zero. To support this, LEG Thüringen operates a brownfield register that already includes over 1,000 sites from 3,000 m² and is being further expanded.
