Welcome. A welcome message from LEG management

Dear readers,

We are actively involved in the expansion of Thuringia as a business, technology and residential location and, with this annual report, explain our work in the past year 2025. Our activities extend to all parts of Thuringia. Business promotion, real estate management and the recruitment of skilled workers are the focal points of our work – we develop and market industrial sites, support investors with a full service for their relocation to Thuringia, conduct Thuringia marketing and foreign trade promotion, contribute to the implementation of the Thuringian innovation strategy as well as to the development of Thuringian technology potential and support the recruitment of skilled workers for the Free State. In addition, we carry out urban development and accompany district administrators and mayors in their regional cooperation, develop residential building land for homebuilders and carry out complex real estate projects.

Managing Director LEG Thüringen

In the reporting year as well, we were able to make much progress in all these fields, and the course was also set for major further projects. By way of example, milestones in the development of large industrial sites should be mentioned here: In 2025, a contract for the development of the Altenburg/Windischleuba industrial estate was signed between the city of Altenburg and LEG. With the first groundbreaking ceremony, we also began construction work to develop the large industrial site Hermsdorf Ost III. Furthermore, we accompanied the founding of the special-purpose association “Industrie- und Gewerbegebiet 3 (IG3) Sömmerda/Kölleda” by the two participating cities. In the future, all these projects will contribute to ensuring that investors with large space requirements do not pass by Thuringia if possible, but instead find suitable sites in the Free State. In order to also address investors worldwide and open distant markets to our Thuringian companies, we maintain foreign offices in a wide variety of countries. In 2025, an important one was added: As a result of the joint delegation trip by the Minister-President and the Minister for Economic Affairs to the USA, the establishment of a new Thuringian office in the United States was decided; the office began its work in Chicago at the end of 2025. An important course was also set in the area of urban development and real estate in the immediate vicinity of the main train station. Adjacent to the Bahnhallenquartier, an attractive development site owned by LEG, is the property at Bahnhofstraße 22a/23, the former Reichsbahndirektion. LEG acquired this property in 2025 and thereby also significantly strengthened the development prospects for the Bahnhallenquartier. Over the coming years, an exciting development will take place across the entire area, which we greatly look forward to.

The course for the future has thus been set, and we are happy to offer our support and involvement when it comes to jointly advancing further projects. Learn more about our work and our expertise by reading our annual report, and if you have your own ideas for ventures and projects to which we could contribute, please feel free to contact us.

We wish you an informative and pleasant read.
