Working Group „Climate“
What does the working group do?
The central fields of action of the working group are the impacts of climate change on Thuringia's city centers, including the development of measures and projects for climate adaptation and climate protection. Accordingly, the quality of life and stay in the city is a particular focus of the working group's work. For 2023, the development of two pilot projects is a key task of the working group.
Goals
The main goals of the working group are to ensure a comprehensive transfer of knowledge and know-how, to inform a wide range of urban development stakeholders inside and outside the action alliance about suitable communication formats, and to develop pilot projects that are intended to serve as models for climate adaptation and climate protection measures. The Wanderbaumallee project is to be finalized in the first half of 2023 and then implemented.

Results of the working group
Within the framework of the working group, an intensive exchange took place until the end of 2022 on the topic that gives it its name, on the status of planning in the various sub-regions of the Free State of Thuringia, and on the general framework conditions including all relevant baseline data. In the working group, a catalog of measures was discussed and, with the preparation of a first pilot project, a strategic goal was defined.
