Working group “Climate”
What does the AG do?
The working group's central areas of focus are the impacts of climate change on Thuringian city centers, including the development of measures and projects for climate adaptation and mitigation. Accordingly, the quality of life and public spaces in the city is a particular focus of the working group's work. The development of two pilot projects is a key task for the working group in 2023.
Goals
The working group's main objectives are to ensure a comprehensive transfer of knowledge and know-how, to inform a wide range of urban development stakeholders both within and outside the action alliance about suitable communication formats, and to develop pilot projects that will serve as models for climate adaptation and climate protection measures. The mobile tree avenue project is scheduled for final planning and implementation in the first half of 2023.

Results of the working group
Within the framework of the working group, intensive discussions took place until the end of 2022 on the eponymous topic, the status of planning in the various sub-regions of the Free State of Thuringia, and the general framework conditions, including all relevant initial data. A catalog of measures was discussed within the working group, and a strategic goal was defined with the preparation of an initial pilot project.
