The industry is undergoing change – shaped by technological sovereignty, resilient supply chains, security requirements, and international competitive pressure. At the same time, future fields such as aerospace are opening up new opportunities for innovation, technology transfer, and industrial value creation. 

The event brought together representatives from industry, small and medium-sized businesses, research, and politics to better connect potential, pool expertise, and develop shared perspectives for the sector. The focus was on transformation, decarbonization, technological innovations, as well as future developments and market opportunities in an increasingly dynamic international environment.

The Aerospace Day showcased the pooled expertise in the Free State in future fields such as optics, photonics, sensor technology, microelectronics and precision engineering, as well as the resulting growth opportunities - also in the aviation industry itself: maintenance and MRO of relevant aircraft components, as well as a high-performance supplier industry. It positions Thuringia as a reliable partner along the entire aviation technology value chain.
