In the heart of Erfurt you will find one of the most modern districts of the state capital: Brühl. Numerous restored and newly built buildings characterize the district and offer plenty of space for living, working and realizing ideas directly behind Erfurt Cathedral.
Since the mid-1990s, Brühl has been developing into a sustainable and livable location. Where there was once an approximately 23-hectare industrial wasteland, today a stylish and modern urban architecture is evident. An exemplary development took place, and a new infrastructure, green spaces, as well as a mix of commerce, services, culture, and housing emerged.

The central location and a state-of-the-art transport infrastructure make Thuringia the fast center of Germany. With the completion of the new ICE hub in 2017, travel times from Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Dresden will be reduced to an average of 2 hours. Erfurt will then be even more quickly accessible for visitors, business travelers and participants of meetings and congresses. Another advantage for the Brühl district, as Brühl is located in the city center of Erfurt and has very good transport connections to the old town, the exhibition center, the motorways and the airport. Erfurt-Brühl e.V. gives new impetus to a district
In the summer of 2007, a district association was founded for the area between Domberg and Gothaer Platz. The goal of Erfurt-Brühl e.V. is to promote the development of this up-and-coming area, to utilize synergies between the actors in Brühl, and to launch joint actions.
The board of Erfurt-Brühl e.V. includes institutions and companies that already act as "lighthouses" in the district. The board is composed as follows: Mr. Stefan A. Beck - Chairman, Dr. Holger Wiemers, Mr. Patrik Frank, Mr. Boris Weikert.
