Chamber of Industry and Commerce Erfurt
Brief introduction of the alliance partner
The Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce covers eight districts and three independent cities in central, northern, and western Thuringia, and thus represents the interests of around 60,000 member companies. It embodies the self-governance of the commercial economy and serves as a spokesperson vis-à-vis politics and society. Its effective and results-oriented actions promote the development of regional economic strength in accordance with the maxim of the honorable merchant.
Focus of the alliance partner within the alliance
Inner-city businesses, particularly in the retail sector, face major challenges due to a crisis-accelerated structural change. This change is accompanied by a shift in the balance of the industry mix, which also suggests an expansion of the diversity of uses. The interplay of all inner-city sectors and stakeholders in favor of a future-proof city center with high experiential value is of extraordinary importance.
The Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), a driving force behind the founding of the Thuringian Action Alliance, accompanies and supports its member companies on their path of transformation and advocates for a balanced management of the process.
