Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce
Brief introduction of the alliance partner
The Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce encompasses eight rural districts and three independent cities in central, northern, and western Thuringia, thus representing the interests of approximately 60,000 member companies. It embodies the self-governance of the commercial sector and acts as its voice to policymakers and the public. Its effective and results-oriented actions promote the development of regional economic strength, guided by the principles of ethical business conduct.
Focus of the alliance partner within the framework of the alliance
Inner-city businesses, particularly in the retail sector, face significant challenges due to a crisis-accelerated structural transformation. This transformation is accompanied by a shift in the mix of industries, which also suggests a broader range of uses. The collaboration of all inner-city businesses and stakeholders to create a sustainable city center with a high-quality experience is therefore of paramount importance.
The Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Erfurt), which initiated the founding of the Thuringian Action Alliance, accompanies and supports its member companies on their path of transformation and advocates for balanced management of the process.
