The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of South Thuringia represents the interests of the approximately 27,500 member companies in the districts of Hildburghausen, Ilm-Kreis, Schmalkalden-Meiningen, Sonneberg, and the independent city of Suhl. It embodies the self-governance of the commercial economy and serves as a spokesperson to politics and society. Its effective and results-oriented actions promote the development of regional economic strength in accordance with the maxim of the honorable merchant.
Focus of the alliance partner within the alliance
The IHK Südthüringen supports its member companies from the commercial sector in the sense of representing their overall interests. The transformation of city centers is also accompanied by a change in the composition of industries. The current focus in the retail sector is likely to shift in favor of a broader mix of uses. The IHK Südthüringen is committed to the Thuringian Alliance to steer this transformation process and avoid undesirable developments.
