Edible City Grown ideas bear fruit.

The whole city as a garden” – the guiding motto of the citizens' initiative “Edible City Mühlhausen e. V.”. It works in Mühlhausen to create usable areas in the city in order to create edible “results” and experiences with the help of cultivated plants and beds. Residents and visitors of the city could get a taste for it. Vacant lots thus blossom into life. And who doesn't like to snack while passing by?

The action alliance was able to help professionalize the work by first enabling networking with other stakeholders and thus the exchange of experiences, and subsequently providing targeted support with project planning. The association's next steps are:

created four micro-gardens in the city center,
expanded the greenhouse as a central location of the “Edible City”,
created new multipurpose rooms with a kitchen and sanitary facilities,
purchased the necessary equipment and furnishings,
and implemented public relations work to encourage greater participation and involvement.

If funding can be activated for this with the support of the action alliance, the project can literally continue to grow.
