Israel is one of the internationally leading technology and innovation locations. The business trip offers Thuringian companies and business-related research institutions direct access to the Israeli innovation ecosystem and to potential partners from business, science, and research.
The focus is on the joint visit to the DefenseTech Week in Tel Aviv, selected company and university visits, as well as the exchange with Israeli technology companies, start-ups, research institutions, and multipliers. Thematic focuses include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, defense tech, autonomous systems, robotics, sensor technology, deep tech, and industrial production technology.

What awaits you on the business trip?
The business trip to Israel combines technical site visits, market information, and personal business contacts into a compact internationalization program.
Participants will visit the DefenseTech Week at Tel Aviv University, meet Israeli technology companies, and gain insights into current applications in the fields of artificial intelligence, drones and autonomous systems, cybersecurity, sensor technology, robotics, additive manufacturing, and industrial automation.
Briefings by the AHK Israel, a pitch event, joint evening events, and targeted networking formats create additional opportunities to build contacts with potential technology, research, and business partners. Planned stops are Tel Aviv, Rosh Ha’Ayin, Ramat Gan, and Haifa.

Travel dates & travel costs
The estimated travel costs vary depending on flight booking and travel class. When using the Lufthansa connection, total costs of approximately 2,630 euros per person are estimated. With the cheaper Condor connection, the estimated total costs are approximately 1,983 euros per person. Flight and hotel prices are indicative and may change until the time of booking.
The supporting program including briefings, group visits, and on-site group transfers is covered by Thüringen International. Flights, hotel, organizational and meal allowance, as well as admission to the DefenseTech Week, are to be paid by the participants. The travel costs are not eligible for funding.

What costs are incurred?
Participants are responsible for their personal flight and hotel costs, an organization and catering flat rate of 350 euros, and the entrance fee to DefenseTech Week, expected to be around 172 euros. The rest of the supporting program and on-site group transfers are covered by Thüringen International.

Are the travel costs eligible for funding?
No. Personal travel expenses are not eligible for funding and must be fully borne by each participating person.

When does the registration deadline end?
Binding online registration is possible until October 20, 2026.

What should be considered regarding entry and security?
Participants must observe the entry regulations applicable at the time of travel, including the requirements for a passport and any required ETA. Due to the security situation, the current travel and safety advisories of the Federal Foreign Office should be checked immediately before departure. In addition, it is recommended to check the coverage of the travel health insurance and to register in the crisis prevention list of the Federal Foreign Office.
