From October 31 to November 8, a Thuringian delegation led by Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs, Colette Boos-John, will visit the economic metropolises of Buenos Aires, Porto Alegre, and Rio de Janeiro to explore new business opportunities on site. The trade component of the broader EU-MERCOSUR Partnership Agreement, which came into force on May 1 and is currently under legal review by Brussels, provides for tariff reductions on 90 percent of traded goods. The recently modernized free trade agreement between the EU and Mexico also opens up new opportunities in Latin America. In addition, the current renegotiation of the USMCA agreement between Mexico, the USA, and Canada will readjust the framework conditions for trade with these three countries. An overview of the resulting new opportunities will be provided by our information event “Doing Business in Northern Mexico“ on September 14.
