Every two years, decision makers from the international automotive industry come together at the world’s largest and most important automotive trade fair, the IAA International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt am Main.
At the joint pavilion for Thuringia, players from the Thuringian automotive sector will showcase their expertise and most recent innovations. The stand is located at Booth E11 in Hall 4.1, right near the Chinese battery manufacturer CATL, which is the process of setting up a production location in Thuringia.
As early as at the beginning of the 20th century, automotive history was already being written here by companies like BMW, with its Dixi model, or by the Ley Brothers from Arnstadt, with their six-cylinder engines. Today, global players such as Daimler, Opel/PSA, Magna, Bosch, BMW, IHI or Borg Warner have all set up production in the Free State.
Thanks to its central location, Thuringia is never far from the automotive manufacturers of Germany and Europe. Alongside a number of major corporations, it is primarily the nimble mid-sized firms who are driving growth in this sector. But what makes the Thuringian automotive industry really stand out is its extremely broad portfolio of technical competencies.
