World market leader in Thuringia: Nissha – Schuster Kunststofftechnik

Nissha – Schuster Kunststofftechnik, a company specializing in the production of sophisticated plastic parts, recently had multiple reasons to celebrate in Waltershausen, western Thuringia: After a construction period of just 15 months, the company inaugurated a new production hall complex, enabling it to expand its business into innovative paper injection molding. At the same time, the company received a certificate from Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs, Wolfgang Tiefensee, and Dr. Arnulf Wulff, authorized signatory and department head of LEG, recognizing it as one of Thuringia's "Hidden Champions.".

With the "Hidden Champions Campaign," the Ministry and LEG (Thuringian State Development Corporation) honor companies that are world market or technology leaders in their respective fields. The Waltershausen-based company, part of the Nissha Group headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, meets the criteria for inclusion among the Champions. Having already achieved considerable success in the market for innovative plastic components—primarily for the interiors of premium automotive brands—it will now, as part of its expansion, also produce fully recyclable trays (workpiece carriers)—entirely sustainably from the renewable raw material paper. The company invested three million euros in the new production hall and facilities in Thuringia. At the inauguration and certificate presentation, guests were given a tour of the production site.
