Working in Thuringia: Careermesse academix opens up many opportunities for young professionals

Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) offers a hybrid-format platform on May 19 / Exhibitors and employers come from Thuringia / Supporting program helps with career entry

Erfurt_ Face-to-Face or simply from the sofa: Young professionals, students, and graduates have the opportunity on Thursday, May 19, as part of the Careermesse "academix Thüringen“ to get to know exciting employers on site or online and find their dream job. On site means at the COMCENTER Brühl in Erfurt, at the company headquarters of LEG and their Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF), which organizes the academix. "I am very pleased to be able to reopen the 'academix Thüringen' after a two-year break. Recruiting young talent for the local economy and administration remains the challenge for the coming decades and at the same time offers many young people great prospects for good and secure jobs in Thuringia“, said Labor Minister Heike Werner.

During the period from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., employers exclusively from Thuringia will present themselves. “We are glad that after two years of pandemic-related interruption we can once again hold our fair in a hybrid format“, says LEG managing director Sabine Woscher. “We offer our companies in the Free State the opportunity to present offers for jobs, internships or working‑student positions. The young professionals can essentially at a glance find a multitude of options for entering the Thuringian labour market.“ With a joint fair walk, Labor Minister Heike Werner and Sabine Woscher will open the event at the start of the fair from 10 a.m.

For the 11th time, ThAFF is organizing the academix Thüringen. Participation is free of charge and without registration for all interested parties. The spectrum of industries and economic sectors from which the exhibitors come is broad. It ranges from industry to social economy, public service, and the hotel and catering industry, all the way to the IT sector – many fields in which the need for skilled workers is very high and has even increased during the Corona period. The Careermesse is accompanied by a diverse supporting program. On site, guests receive feedback on their application documents during ThAFF's application folder check and can have application photos taken free of charge. Speakers provide live and online information and tips on the topics of job search, application, and career entry.

Background:

The Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) is located at the LEG Thüringen and was founded in 2011. On behalf of the Thuringian Ministry of Labor, it pursues the goal of helping Thuringian companies meet their ever-growing need for skilled workers. On the other hand, it also aims to support, among others, young people who are about to enter working life, as well as commuters or potential returnees in taking up (or resuming) a professional activity in Thuringia. To this end, the ThAFF markets Thuringia as a place of employment, advises its target groups, and informs them about job opportunities in the Free State (for example, as part of commuter days). With its own company contact trade fairs – the “academix” for young people and the “comeback” for commuters and returnees – it brings companies and (future) skilled workers together. In addition, the ThAFF is active in a variety of networks and supports labor market stakeholders at events. The ThAFF is financed with funds from the Free State of Thuringia.
