ERFURT_ Attractive offers for working in the Free State will be presented on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the job and career fair “academix meets comeback“ at the COMCENTER Brühl (Erfurt). As in the previous two years, the Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) combines its two successful fairs academix and comeback – invited are young people at universities and colleges as well as young professionals (young skilled workers) who would like to enter through regular employment, training, or an internship; the second target group is commuters and potential returnees, i.e., skilled workers who currently do not work in the Free State but are connected to it and would like to work in Thuringia again. Around 60 employers from a wide variety of industries will be on site, presenting job offers and available for getting to know each other and conversations. At the start from 10:00 a.m., Thuringia's Labor Minister Katharina Schenk and LEG Managing Director Sabine Wosche will take a tour of the fair and talk with the exhibitors.
Thuringia's Minister of Labor Katharina Schenk emphasizes: "Attracting and retaining skilled workers in Thuringia is a central task for the future – for companies, for regions, for our entire Free State. Events like this trade fair create concrete spaces for encounter where professional perspectives emerge. They are a key to making Thuringia economically strong, worth living in, and future-proof."
As in the previous year, the trade fair will no longer take place on a weekday, but on a Saturday – on a weekend, commuters and potential returnees are more likely to be visiting home. “Just like in 2024, when the new date proved successful, we are holding the trade fair parallel to the popular Krämerbrückenfest in Erfurt, so that participation in our fair can be easily combined with a visit to the city festival,” says Sabine Wosche. “Our event location, the COMCENTER Brühl, also offers ideal conditions for all visitors to find out about a wide range of employer offerings in one place and to hold intensive discussions.”
Among the presenting companies are such diverse employers as Analytik Jena GmbH & Co. KG, the City of Erfurt, IBYKUS AG, Siemens Energy, CiS Forschungsinstitut für Mikrosensorik GmbH, N3 Overhaul Services GmbH & Co. KG, PDV GmbH, and TEAG Thüringer Energie AG. The Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture is present with its teacher recruitment campaign. Additionally, the organizer LEG and its subsidiary Thuringian Energy and GreenTech Agency (ThEGA) are also represented as employers. All exhibitors come from the Free State and exclusively present job opportunities in Thuringia. Visitors can expect many job offers; they also benefit from a varied supporting program. For instance, interested parties receive professional feedback on their personal documents in the application folder check; application photos can be taken free of charge, and in lectures, participants get information and tips on job search, applications, and career entry.
Background:
Predecessors of the “Thuringian Job and Careermesse” are the academix and the comeback: The former has been targeting young people from schools, universities, and early career years since its premiere in 2011, while the latter has been inviting commuters and returnees since 2013 to make Contactcontact with local employers, in order to enable them to find employment in their home region.
