For years, the USA has been Thuringia's most important export market – over 10% of Thuringia's total exports find their buyers there, and the USA is also one of the most important players in international investment projects in the Free State.
To ensure we always receive the latest information firsthand, we regularly hold information events with experts from the USA. For example, on January 24th, Dr. Michelle Egan – Professor at American University in Washington DC and Global Fellow at the Wilson Center – visited us and discussed the US trade policy realignment and the corresponding challenges for the Free State of Thuringia with numerous Thuringian companies and key stakeholders.
The next TACT meeting will take place on February 5th; it will also address the question of how transatlantic economic relations will develop after the US election. We have invited Susanne Gellert, CEO of the German-American Chamber of Commerce (AHK) in New York, to share her insights and engage in discussion.
