Innovative startups from Thuringia have taken first and second place in the current cluster innovation competition: Healyan GmbH from Barchfeld-Immelborn and mi2-factory GmbH from Jena achieved this feat as part of the "IQ Innovation Award Central Germany." Healyan developed LED glasses that use strobe technology and light pulses to provide relaxation and entertainment. Light programs, controlled via an app, can be combined with meditation or classical music – users benefit from stress reduction, relief from psychological tension, as well as entertainment and enjoyment.
The mi2-factory, on the other hand, is successfully working on processes to shrink microchips fivefold and manufacture them more cost-effectively. The technology, currently being optimized in a pilot plant, can help to deploy wind and solar power cost-effectively across a wide area, thus giving the energy transition an additional boost. (hw)
