In 1907, the half-timbered house “Schieferhof“ was built; today, old charm meets young spirit here. Individually and lovingly designed rooms, a small wellness area, modern seminar rooms, and exquisite cuisine attract guests to a region that has always been highly appealing in terms of recreation and tourism. The Thuringian Forest and especially the region around Neuhaus am Rennweg offer a wealth of opportunities to be active in nature or simply let your soul dangle. But there is also much to marvel at culturally and in terms of technical history in the area, as it is the cradle of a diverse glass, porcelain, and toy industry. The Christmas tree baubles from neighboring Lauscha alone enjoy worldwide fame, which is why the new name is also Hotel “Schieferhof – GlasLUST“. The “Schieferhof“ has been operated since the mid-nineties by the couple Rita Worm-Horn and Lutz Michael Horn as well as by their son Robert Worm – the new owners and operators are Lutz Lange, Martin Lüders, and Stine Michel.
