Thuringian Foreign Trade Day provides impulses for international business

Event highlights opportunities in the global economy / June 28 at LOTTO Thüringen Haus Oberhof

ERFURT_ Increasing competitiveness, optimizing performance, and taking new paths to achieve lasting success – these are goals in competitive sports as well as in international business. Against this backdrop, the organizers of the 14th Thuringian Foreign Trade Day (AWT) invite participants to Oberhof, a special place of outstanding sporting activities. The leading event for Thuringian foreign trade will take place in person on Tuesday, June 28, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the LOTTO Thuringia House – right next to the bobsled track where the World Championships will be held in 2023. The organizers are the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society (TMWWDG), the LEG Thüringen , and the Association of Thuringian Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

The AWT begins in the morning with an online warm-up from 10:00 to 12:30. In the afternoon, Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee opens the Foreign Trade Day on site. He will lead the open-up together with LEG Managing Director Andreas Krey and Dr. Peter Traut, President of the IHK Südthüringen. Futurist and marketing expert Tim Cortinovis makes a statement with his keynote on the topic “New paths in international business – what will the sales of tomorrow look like?“ The afternoon then offers the opportunity to discuss the presented content and to network. Inspiring parallels between business and sport are discussed by the newly crowned two-time Olympic luge champion Johannes Ludwig in the evening beer coaster conversation on the topic “What can business learn from sport?“

This year's AWT offers orientation and inspiration in a time when all entrepreneurs active in international business face unprecedented challenges, including the pandemic and lockdowns, supply chain problems and price increases, as well as the war in Ukraine. Under the motto "New Paths in International Business“, the AWT provides orientation and plenty of input for successful international business. "New Paths“ – the AWT sheds light on this concern within the framework of three key topics. The first is "New Procurement Paths“ and is dedicated to diversifying supply relationships and analyzing Thuringia's role as well as the opportunities that arise for companies from the Free State from the current situation. Actively counteracting supply bottlenecks while taking on new roles in the supply chain – this topic block provides strategies for this. A second focus is "New Paths in International Sales and Customer Acquisition“ with many impulses for effective customer outreach through digital marketing and sales platforms. Within this panel, experts explain sustainable sales strategies, present current tools, and outline solutions for how acceptance within the team can be fostered during realignment.
Finally, the focus turns to specific world regions in the field of “Country-Specific Sales Approaches”. Among others, twelve country experts, representatives of the foreign trade chambers, and LEG foreign representatives are on board, providing detailed market information and insights into the specifics of sales in countries such as India, Israel, the USA, China, Vietnam, and Uruguay.

All media representatives are cordially invited to participate in the 14th Foreign Trade Day in Oberhof. Please refer to the program for detailed information at www.thueringen-international/awt/
