Thuringian companies benefit from travel to foreign markets

We are committed to supporting Thuringian companies in their internationalization efforts, and delegation and business trips play a key role in this. Last autumn, our travels took us to Chile, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam, among other places, and in the new year we are heading to the USA.

In the fall, a 60-member delegation from the Free State of Thuringia, led by Minister-President Bodo Ramelow in his capacity as President of the Bundesrat (Federal Council), traveled to Chile. Key topics of discussion included renewable energies and mining, as well as university partnerships. A delegation led by Minister of Economic Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee visited India, where, among other things, successful talks were held regarding the hiring of trainees from the Gedee Technical Training Institute (Coimbatore) by Thuringian companies. A market exploration trip to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan also opened up further interesting opportunities. The aim was to explore Central Asia as an economic region and to deepen existing partnerships. Looking ahead, a delegation trip to Thuringia's most important export market is planned: From January 28 to February 3, Thuringia's State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Dr. Katja Böhler, will travel to the USA, specifically to Texas and California, and attend the leading trade fair Photonics West 2023.
