Led by Minister-President Mario Voigt, a 60-member Thuringian delegation from politics, business, and science traveled to Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore in early June to expand relations with one of the most dynamic growth markets. The aim of the trip was to initiate new cooperations in business, science, and the recruitment of skilled workers, and to position Thuringia as an attractive location for investment and employment.
In addition to political talks and networking events, Thuringia opened its own representative office at the renowned innovation center T-Hub in Hyderabad to further expand cooperation with Indian companies and research institutions.
In Bangalore, India's technology hub, the delegation visited, among others, the Indian headquarters of ZEISS, the SAP Labs Innovation Park, and the aerospace company Skyroot Aerospace. A total of nine company visits were completed, and intensive discussions were held about joint projects in the fields of optics, photonics, digitalization, aerospace, and innovation. There were also appointments with educational institutions, nursing training centers, and the Goethe-Institut, which served to open up new pathways for recruiting skilled workers.
To sustainably consolidate the new contacts, further activities are planned, such as a business trip focusing on aerospace & defense, including a visit to the AERO India 2027 trade fair in Bangalore (08. - 12.02.27).
