International markets are becoming increasingly important for Thuringian industry. Last year, Thuringian industry (companies with 50 or more employees) recorded an export quota of 37.3%; this is a top figure for Thuringia, surpassing the 36.9% figure in 2020 (and the 31.5% figure in 2011). Jena leads the ranking of Thuringian districts and independent cities with an export quota of 73%.
