“Sondershausen will become the gateway to the world,” WAGO Managing Director Heiner Lang recently announced. With an investment of 50 million euros, the family-owned company is implementing the largest single investment in its history. In Thuringia, WAGO is not only expanding its existing warehouse but also constructing a state-of-the-art high-bay warehouse on an area of 11,000 square meters. Up to 12,000 orders per day are expected to be processed once the facility is operational by the end of 2024. According to Heiner Lang, the company's extensive commitment to Thuringia was primarily due to the expertise available at the site.
In nearby Kölleda, Funkwerk AG invested nearly ten million euros in the production of train radio technology and information systems for passengers at train stations, such as the new generation of train information monitors. A new administration building was also constructed. (hw)
