The company trip to Israel in early April 2022 proved fruitful. The 11-member delegation held numerous discussions with representatives from business and academia regarding future collaborations. The cities of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Be'er Sheva, and Haifa were stops on the trip. Thematically, the focus was on new cooperation opportunities in the fields of medical technology and electronics, as well as exchanging information on the latest developments in the Israeli start-up scene.
Program highlights with many meetings and discussions included, among other things..
- the visit to Ben Gurion University in Be'er Sheva (with its knowledge and technology transfer organization BGN Technologies)
- a site visit to Rambam Hospital (including the Rambam Med Tech Research and Innovation Hub)
- a visit to the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation (with an overview of the success story of the Israeli high-tech industry)
- Discussions at Carl Zeiss SMT in Bar-Lev and an excursion to Kibbutz Hatzerim, home to Netafim, the world market leader in drip irrigation
In addition, around 25 individual meetings with potential business partners were organized for representatives of Thuringian companies. For companies wishing to establish initial Contact to initiate business deals and collaborations, and requiring support with market entry in Israel, an innovation ambassador will soon be working in Tel Aviv on behalf of Thüringen International.
