The business trip to Israel carried out in early April 2022 was productive. The 11-member delegation held numerous discussions on future collaborations with representatives from business and academia. The cities of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Be'er Sheva, and Haifa were stops on the trip. Thematically, the focus was on new cooperation opportunities in the fields of medical technology and electronics, as well as exchanges on the latest developments in the Israeli start-up scene.
Program items with many meetings and discussions included, among others
- the visit to Ben Gurion University in Be’er Sheva (with its knowledge and technology transfer organization BGN Technologies)
- an on-site appointment at Rambam Hospital (incl. Research and Innovation Hub Rambam Med Tech)
- the visit to the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation (with an overview of the success story of the Israeli high-tech industry)
- Discussions at Carl Zeiss SMT in Bar-Lev as well as an excursion to Kibbutz Hatzerim, which is home to the world market leader in drip irrigation, Netafim
In addition, around 25 individual meetings with potential business partners were organized for the Thuringian company executives. For companies that want to establish initial Contacte contacts to initiate business and cooperation and that need support with market entry in Israel, an innovation ambassador will soon be active in Tel Aviv on behalf of Thuringia International.
