Thuringia and Vietnam are expanding their cooperation

Numerous Contact , the signing of ten cooperation agreements and contracts, and the expansion of collaboration in business, science, and skilled worker management – this is the successful outcome of a seven-day trip by a Thuringian delegation to Vietnam in early November. At the invitation of Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, a 75-member delegation led by Minister-President Bodo Ramelow visited the Southeast Asian country, which is characterized by its economic dynamism.

A broad spectrum of topics, ranging from economics and science to skilled worker recruitment, shaped the agenda of the trip, which was attended by the Minister-President, Labor Minister Heike Werner, and State Secretary for Economic Affairs Carsten Feller. The delegation visited the metropolises of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as – for the first time – the city of Da Nang in central Vietnam and the province of Phu Tho in the north. LEG, the organization that hosted the trip, concluded a cooperation agreement with the Phu Tho Economic Development Agency. Furthermore, young Vietnamese trainees received their certificates of participation during the trip, thus securing apprenticeship contracts in Thuringia starting this year. The delegation explored further opportunities for cooperation in the area of skilled workers with Vietnamese partners; companies and universities established new networks and expanded existing Contact .
