From December 1 to 5, the Weimarhalle will become the new center for German-language television and streaming productions. Outstanding films and series from public and private broadcasters as well as streaming platforms will be shown. Awards presented include the Television Film Prize of the German Academy of Performing Arts, the German Series Prize, and the 3sat Audience Award.
The move is part of a strategic realignment: The Academy aims to expand its sphere of influence and leverage new impulses from the cultural city of Weimar.
For the city, the festival means a cultural upgrade and new opportunities for the media and events industry. The film screenings are public and free of charge, and the supporting program offers talks, jury discussions, and networking for the industry.
