In the Ilmenau town hall, you are welcomed by Colette Boos-John, Thuringia's Minister for Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Areas (TMWLLR) since December, as part of an exchange with Torsten Herrmann, President of the IHK Südthüringen, and Andreas Krey, Managing Director of LEG Thüringen – TMWLLR, LEG and the Working Group of Thuringian IHKs are the organizers of the AWT. To set the mood, Franziska Schenk, former world-class speed skater, gives an inspiring motivational impulse based on her experiences as a top athlete with a successful drive for success and peak performance. A fireside chat between Minister Boos-John and Franziska Schenk then offers a combative look into the future, addressing the question of what the prospects for Thuringian foreign trade will look like in the coming years. This outlook on future opportunities is continued in a panel discussion with experts, where, among others, the German company WILO SE will show how it reacts to geopolitical trends, adapts its business model in the world, and how Thuringian SMEs can benefit from this.
A key component of the event is the presentation of positive examples of how Thuringian players have successfully advanced their international business. The accompanying exhibition with success stories from companies, universities, clusters, and associations provides a wealth of information on this topic. Selected players present their successes and experiences on stage, inviting discussion; all participants can gain practical insights and new motivation for their own business from the examples shown. In addition, the diverse opportunities for intensive exchange with our foreign representatives and experts, as every year at the AWT, offer an attractive offering for all guests: The foreign representatives have been supporting and advising Thuringian companies on our behalf for many years in China, India, Israel, Southern Africa, Vietnam, and Central Asia. Experts from a wide range of countries, from Brazil to Morocco and from Taiwan to Georgia, are also available for instructive dialogue. "Thuringia in the World – Today.Tomorrow.Together" – this year too, the Thuringian Foreign Trade Day provides a platform that opens up a wealth of information, new paths, motivation, and diverse contacts. We cordially invite you to participate in this year's AWT; registration options and further information can be foundhere.
