ERFURT_ In early April, Europe's leading event for the digital healthcare sector will take place in Berlin – and Thuringia will present its strengths in this market segment as part of a joint stand. The trade fair is called DMEA, where decision-makers from all areas of healthcare will come together from April 9 to 11. Six companies and research institutions from the Free State will showcase Thuringia's trump cards here in Hall 3.2, Stand E 108. A highlight and the best opportunity for Contacte and lively exchange is the evening event "Thuringia-Date" on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. "Demographic development, digitalization, and rapid medical progress in many areas make the digital health economy one of the most dynamic market segments of all," says Andreas Krey, Managing Director of LEG. "This year we are at DMEA for the third time, which offers optimal opportunities to exchange ideas and network with companies and research institutes from other regions."
On behalf of the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, LEG organizes the joint booth. There are many forward-looking topics with which the Thuringian exhibitors can score points. For example, software solutions for outpatient medical practices and emergency services are presented, which support customers in the digitalization of their processes as well as in the areas of data collection, contract management, and quality assurance. New methods for anonymizing health data through digital avatars are also shown – using state-of-the-art technology, the needs of optimal healthcare including the necessary flow of information on the one hand and comprehensive data protection for patients on the other hand are brought into harmony. Another project develops concepts for telemedicine solutions in which intelligent cameras in the home environment capture patients' vital functions such as heart rate and blood pressure and ensure continuous medical care.
Projects and solutions like these thrive on the collaboration of a wide variety of Thuringian companies and research institutes. Accordingly, many activities are bundled by the LEG team "Thuringian ClusterManagement“ (ThCM), which also fulfills the tasks of the office of the Thuringian Innovation Strategy (RIS). It was a series of workshops by the ThCM titled "Digital Health“ that, starting in 2016, brought together many Thuringian stakeholders and also gave rise to the plan to present a Thuringian joint booth at DMEA. The choice fell on DMEA because it is Europe's central meeting point for digital health, the digital health economy – here, doctors, executives from hospitals and care facilities, as well as experts from politics, science, and research come together. Thuringia's first two participations in the trade fair were successful. This year, more than 700 exhibitors and more than 350 speakers will be represented at DMEA and will demonstrate in a practical way how digital transformation makes highly complex healthcare systems patient-oriented, economical, and future-proof.
