SIOS Meßtechnik GmbH from Ilmenau impressed judges in the 29th round of the "TOP 100 Innovators" competition and received the seal for its outstanding innovation management during the award ceremony presented by Ranga Yogeshwar. According to Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, scientific director of TOP 100, only the most innovative medium-sized companies receive this award, as they are exceptionally well-prepared for future challenges. Founded in Ilmenau in 1991, the company develops and manufactures laser interferometric and other precision measuring instruments. These are used, among other things, in the automotive industry for measuring body parts and engines, or for non-contact, high-resolution vibration measurement in the production of miniature sensors for mobile phones, etc. SIOS claims to have the world's most precise positioning system with its NMM nanopositioning and nanomeasuring machine, making it the global market leader. In addition to the ingenuity of its employees, a key factor in its success is the close collaboration with the Ilmenau University of Technology and other research institutions. (maa)
