The pace of development at packaging specialist Papacks Sales GmbH in Arnstadt, Thuringia, is breathtaking: In 2020, the company commissioned its first gigafactory at the site, the second hall was officially opened at the end of June – and managing directors Tahsin Dag and Werner Sempell are already intensively planning the third gigafactory, which will also include a research institute. Thuringia is proving to be an ideal location for Papacks' consistent business expansion, and the investor's innovative, sustainable products – plastic-free and biodegradable packaging – are the key to its success. As with the first phase, the company invested around €14 million in the second gigafactory, which will soon house the world's first fiber molding bottle machine. "Papacks stands for highly innovative manufacturing technology and future-oriented products," says Andreas Krey, Managing Director of LEG, which has supported the company in Thuringia from the very beginning. "The company's remarkable commitment significantly enriches Thuringia as an investment and technology hub." (hw)
