Overcoming the skills shortage through qualification: ThAFF practice exchange provides Thuringian companies with impulses

The speaker at the online event on February 20 is Lukas Schiffner, project manager of the Automotive Network Transformation Thuringia (ANeTT)

ERFURT_ The economy in Thuringia faces diverse challenges, but also great opportunities. The event format "ThAFF-Praxisaustausch“, which will be continued on February 20 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, aims to provide Thuringian companies with solutions and suggestions in this sense. ThAFF stands for "Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment“. Under the title "Actively addressing change through qualification. Practical solutions for Thuringian companies“, participants will receive instructive input for their business. As part of this online event, Lukas Schiffner, Transformation Manager at LEG Thüringen and project manager of the Automotive Network Transformation Thuringia (ANeTT), will give a presentation; he will be available for questions afterwards along with members of the ANeTT team.

The ANeTT project is based on the concrete project work of a consortium consisting of the Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen (LEG), the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), and the Thuringian Innovation Center for Mobility (ThIMo) at the TU Ilmenau. It supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the automotive and other sectors in overcoming the major challenges in the areas of demographics, decarbonization, and digitalization. In five so-called QTI nodes in the pilot region of West Thuringia, ANeTT offers comprehensive advice on the topics of qualification, transfer, and innovation. “Qualification is an essential tool for our Thuringian companies to counter the shortage of skilled workers,” says Sabine Wosche, Managing Director of LEG, where ThAFF is based. “ANeTT has a great deal of practical expertise in this field, so the event can provide valuable impetus and guidance to all decision-makers in companies.”

Background

The Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) is located at the LEG Thüringen and was founded in 2011. On behalf of the Thuringian Ministry of Labor, it pursues the goal of helping Thuringian companies meet their ever-growing need for skilled workers. On the other hand, it also aims to support, among others, young people who are about to enter working life, as well as commuters or potential returnees in taking up (or resuming) a professional activity in Thuringia. To this end, the ThAFF markets Thuringia as a place of employment, advises its target groups, and informs them about job opportunities in the Free State (for example, as part of commuter days). With its own company contact trade fairs – the “academix” for young people and the “comeback” for commuters and returnees – it brings companies and (future) skilled workers together. In addition, the ThAFF is active in a variety of networks and supports labor market stakeholders at events. The ThAFF is financed with funds from the Free State of Thuringia.

Registration for free participation is still possible until Wednesday, February 19, 2025, via the following link:
