ERFURT_ For their extraordinary commitment to equal opportunity in the workplace, TOTAL E-QUALITY e. V. awarded its eponymous seal to 59 award winners from all over Germany on October 25 in Erfurt. The TOTAL E-QUALITY seal honors companies and organizations from business, science, and administration for their commitment to establishing and expanding equal opportunity and diversity within the company.
“We sincerely thank all award recipients for their commitment,” says Dr. Ulla Weber, Chairwoman of TOTAL E-QUALITY. “They are outstanding examples of equal opportunity personnel policy that is oriented towards current and future challenges. With their successful application, they document that equal opportunity and diversity are an integral part of their organizational culture. They present themselves as attractive employers in the competition for committed, qualified specialists. Scientific institutions additionally highlight equal opportunity as part of their excellence.” The award ceremony takes place annually at changing locations; this year at the COMCENTER Brühl of LEG Thüringen in Erfurt. The LEG was honored for the sixth consecutive time in 2022.
"We have been a label holder since 2007 and are pleased that the award ceremony takes place with us this year," said Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, management of LEG. "For our company, equal opportunities and diversity are central aspects of corporate culture. We promote diversity, work-life balance, gender equality and health maintenance with the goal of increased motivation, meaningful work and performance throughout the company."
The long-standing history of the TOTAL E-QUALITY e. V. association shows that lived equal opportunities and the future viability of companies and organizations are directly linked. This is particularly evident in the recruitment of skilled workers. A working atmosphere in which people are treated respectfully and judged equally regardless of their personal and social characteristics is an important success factor not only for recruitment but also for retaining skilled workers. How can we create a culture that is characterized by mutual appreciation and recognition and in which everyone has the same opportunities? "There are different views and perspectives on the HOW of achieving goals. We will have to talk about it – again and again, with each other, controversially too, and above all with all those involved, and across generations. Under the heading `Generation Contract Equal Opportunities`, TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e. V. is using this year's award ceremony to shape and advance the dialogue between generations," explains Dr. Ulla Weber.
Organizations from business, science, and administration as well as associations that generally employ at least 15 employees can apply for the TOTAL E-QUALITY award. The application sets out fundamental attitudes, strategies, measures, and their monitoring. An independent jury examines the application documents on behalf of the association and decides on the award. The criterion is that the organizations reach a consensus between economic interests on the one hand and strategies for implementing equal opportunities in the interest of employees on the other. The different starting situations and circumstances of the applicants are taken into account by the jury.
The award is granted for three years. The winners receive a certificate and may use the TOTAL E-QUALITY logo in all internal and external relations for presentation and image cultivation. A renewed award is given if the repeated application demonstrates that the path to equal opportunity is sustainable and further progress has been made. In 29 award rounds since 1997, TOTAL E-QUALITY e. V. has awarded a total of 1,020 awards to 357 organizations. 241 of them have successfully extended the award at least once. Those who receive it for the fifth time are given the sustainability prize. 72 organizations have already achieved this distinction. Behind the 357 organizations are a total of approximately two million employees and around 900,000 students.
