What a start at Ettersburg Castle near Weimar! Together with 40 participants, Wolfgang Tiefensee, Andreas Krey, the US Consul General Kenichiro Toko and the head of the Canadian consular representation in Munich, David Dunkerley, officially launched the Transatlantic Circle Thuringia (TACT).
With the #TACT We aim to further intensify Thuringian-transatlantic economic relations in the future and offer companies active in transatlantic trade a suitable platform for discussion. In addition to traditional information events, regular company visits, informal gatherings, and other activities are planned.
That this is worthwhile is demonstrated by a look at the current economic situation: Thuringian products are in demand in the USA, and the trend is rising. Exports from the Free State to the United States grew by more than eleven percent in 2020 alone. And in the first half of 2021, export volumes were again significantly higher than the previous year: In April alone, a new monthly export record of €218 million to the USA was achieved. The TACT (Thuringian Trade Fair for Thuringia) is therefore coming at just the right time and is only one important component: To expand and deepen our Contact , we are currently also preparing business trips and presentations at important Trade Fairs in the region, including the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago.
