Nissha doubles production space in Waltershausen with a 20-million-euro investment

With a ceremonial opening in April of this year, Nissha Advanced Technologies Europe GmbH has set a strong signal for the future of the automotive location Thuringia: The new hall at the Waltershausen site doubles the company's production area. The Nissha Group is investing more than 20 million euros in the expansion – supported by around 1.8 million euros in funding from the joint task "Improvement of the regional economic structure" (GRW). In the new production hall, highly functional films for the exterior area of electric vehicles will be produced in the future. These innovative components integrate electrical lines, heating elements, sensors and connections – and make vehicles not only smarter, but also more efficient. "This investment is a ray of hope for the entire supplier industry in Thuringia," emphasized Economics Minister Colette Boos-John at the opening. Waltershausen's mayor Leon Graupner and representatives of the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the LEG Thüringen also acknowledged the company's commitment. Nissha Advanced Technologies Europe GmbH, which emerged from Schuster Kunststofftechnik GmbH, today employs over 230 people. It develops and produces plastic parts using multi-component injection molding and IML technology – partly under cleanroom conditions. With the new hall, Nissha is not only strengthening its market position, but also sustainably strengthening the economic location of Thuringia.
