Good news from the "Erfurter Kreuz": As was announced shortly before the editorial deadline, the company N3 Overhaul Services is significantly expanding its capacities at the LEG site in Central Thuringia. N3, a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and Rolls-Royce, specializes in the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines. Recently, the company received approval to also service the engines of the Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" – accordingly, N3 is starting an expansion program at the Thuringian site. Work on expanding the factory hall and building a logistics center is scheduled to begin as early as 2023. "N3 has been based in Thuringia since 2007 and is undergoing an impressive dynamic development," says LEG department head and authorized officer Dr. Arnulf Wulff. While the company was able to recruit more than 100 new employees last year, increasing its workforce to 800, the announced expansion is expected to push this number beyond the thousand mark in the future.
