ERFURT_ It is important, but at the same time challenging for people with a refugee and/or migration background: integration into the labor market, which is a significant factor for successful participation in social and economic life. Against this backdrop, the information day “Career Perspectives for International Citizens*” on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the COMCENTER Brühl in Erfurt offers many suggestions, data, and facts on the topic as well as the opportunity for exchange. The organizers are all members of the “Working Group on Integration into the Labor Market” of the “Network for Integration of the State Capital Erfurt”, which also includes LEG Thüringen (with its work area “Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment – ThAFF)”. All visitors can expect a free and multilingual program consisting of lectures, information booths, and video contributions. There will be a supervised play corner for children.
The counseling and support services for immigrants and refugees in Erfurt are very diverse. Often these people cannot even know all these options. On this information day they should be comprehensively informed about what is really possible, which educational paths can be taken in order to finally end up in a long-term and meaningful employment," explains Rebecca Heintz, coordinator of the "Network for Integration of the State Capital Erfurt". "As a business development agency of the Free State we are aware of the high relevance of integrating international specialists into the labour market, and especially our ThAFF is very active in this field," says Sabine Wosche, managing director of LEG. "Events like the information day on Saturday are very important for the people who want to work here, and we are pleased to be able to host this special event in our house.
The schedule includes a total of 16 presentations in nine languages: German, English, Spanish, Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic, and Vietnamese. Topics range from general suggestions and information on finding a suitable job to specific questions such as the appropriate resume, evaluation of job advertisements, and dealing with the recognition of qualifications. The accompanying exhibition with information booths also provides useful knowledge.
