Weimar is a true cultural universe and probably THE UNESCO city in Germany, because there are 19 World Heritage sites here. This includes classics such as the residences of Goethe and Schiller or the French‑looking summer residence Belvedere on the edge of the city. In 2023, however, the Bauhaus ensemble is in the spotlight, because a pioneering project of modernity turns 100. On the birthday of the “Haus am Horn“ Weimar this year asks the question “How will we live?“. The numerous exhibitions provide answers, such as in the Bauhaus Museum Weimar, the Nietzsche Archive or the Museum Neues Weimar. Thuringia is World Heritage land.
