Kyocera Fineceramics Europe GmbH – a subsidiary of the Japanese Kyocera Group – is moving into a new technology and production site in Erfurt. With this, the company is expanding its technology in the field of multi-wire sawing with modern systems for high-precision cutting of brittle-hard materials. The application expertise in target markets such as semiconductor manufacturing and testing is being expanded, and the development and production of advanced ceramic products is being made possible. The environmental technology division from Mannheim will also be located at the Erfurt site, where Kyocera develops, among other things, exhaust gas scrubbers and neutralization systems. The new production area in Erfurt-Southeast offers employees more space for efficient development, assembly, and testing, while also ensuring faster delivery of products to customers. In the future, in addition to processing its own ceramic products, the company will also take on contract processing of customer materials. Armin Kayser, Managing Director of KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH: “We are convinced that the new site will not only strengthen our service portfolio, but also help to further expand our market presence, particularly in semiconductor applications, and offer our customers even better solutions.” The deciding factor in choosing the location was the well-equipped production areas. They offer expansion potential and were leased from LEG Thüringen .
