With a total of 74 participants, the new "German Professional School“ (GPS) will start its work on March 4, 2024. The official opening took place at the GPS location Southwest in Eisenach took place. In total, the institution, which is based under the umbrella of LEG Thüringen , has four main locations in all parts of the state. Stated goal: The GPS prepares refugees and, in the future, also young people from third countries specifically for vocational training in Thuringia and then places them with companies in the state.
The GPS is thus also a response to the growing demand for labor and skilled workers and a support for local companies.
