From colorful jigsaw puzzles to a doll's kitchen – in-kind donation from LEG staff delights the little ones

For the 13th time: Employees of the state company collect useful goods for the Bummi department store in Erfurt / Contribution to solidarity and togetherness

ERFURT_ Especially these days, the Bummi department store, run by the AWO Alten-, Jugend- und Sozialhilfe (AJS) gGmbH, is in high demand – parents with low incomes shop here on Erfurt's Thomasstraße and buy toys, clothing, or other presents for their little ones for the most beautiful celebration of the year. For many, this is the only way to surprise their loved ones with a nice gift under the Christmas tree. The employees of LEG Thüringen know this and have collected again this year: numerous moving boxes full of games, puzzles, dolls, tricycles, child car seats, painting supplies, clothing, strollers, school bags, books, and learning computers – new and used – came together during the donation campaign.

"We are delighted that our employees take part in our campaign with such commitment every year," said Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, managing directors of LEG, on the occasion of the handover. "It has become a good tradition by now that we bring joy with this donation shortly before Christmas, now for the 13th time."

Packed into countless boxes, cartons, and bags, the useful goods found their way to Erfurt's Thomasstraße: On this Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Anke Kalb, LEG department head for personnel and skilled worker management, and LEG employee Simone Otto handed over the donation to Sonja Tragboth, head of the children and youth welfare department at the AWO state association, as well as to Maria Böwe, a full-time employee at the department store.
