Thuringia is a true paradise for festival lovers in 2025. From classical to rock, from jazz to electro – the state offers an impressive variety of events. For fans of electronic music, the HeideWitzka Festival from July 3 to 5 in Bad Sulza is a must. The Rudolstadt Festival from July 3 to 6 is Germany's largest festival for folk, roots, and world music and attracts music lovers from all over Europe. A highlight is the Kulturarena in Jena, which takes place from July 2 to August 17. With concerts, theater, and film, it attracts around 70,000 visitors annually. For fans of harder sounds, the Party.San Metal Open Air near Mühlhausen from August 7 to 9 offers a perfect opportunity to let loose. And last but not least, a special cultural highlight: the Domstufen-Festspiele in Erfurt, which take place from August 8 to 31. Operas and plays are performed here against the impressive backdrop of Erfurt Cathedral. This year, the opera La Bohème is on the program.
