EXPO REAL 2018: Thuringia advertises with Bauhaus and attractive locations

Companies and regions at the largest real estate and location trade fair in Munich / Tourism industry and ICE-City Erfurt city district are among the focal points
ERFURT_ Once again, Europe's largest real estate trade fair EXPO REAL is celebrating a new exhibitor record when it opens its doors for three days on Monday, October 8, 2018. More than 2,050 exhibitors from around 40 countries will be presenting themselves in Munich, and the state of Thuringia is also on board as an attractive real estate and investment location. Under the umbrella of the Thuringian joint stand in Hall C1 | Stand 124, a total of 19 companies, districts, institutions and initiatives of the Free State are presenting themselves. With graphic elements and information material, this year's stand refers to the anniversary "100 Years of Bauhaus", which will be celebrated next year, and which the economic developers and exhibitors want to use for their communication with entrepreneurs, investors and tourists. "A focus of our activities in Munich is addressing investors in the areas of hotels and holiday resorts," explains Valentina Kerst, State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society. "At the beginning of the year, we established a special acquisition team for the hospitality industry at LEG, which takes care of addressing and settling corresponding companies. EXPO REAL offers an excellent opportunity to get into conversation with decision-makers in the industry." This will be done specifically on the first day of the fair, when Valentina Kerst, together with LEG Managing Director Sabine Wosche, will visit various representatives of the industry as part of a tour of the fair. Another focus of the Thuringian presentation is the urban development project ICE-City Erfurt. For investors and companies from all over the world, attractive investment opportunities will arise in the future on the approximately 30-hectare areas that extend in the immediate vicinity of the future ICE hub. In the summer of this year, the groundbreaking ceremony took place for the first "building block" of the new district: The May Group from Itzehoe is building the "prizeotel Erfurt-City" here, an economy design hotel that impresses with its creative use of colors and shapes as well as user-friendly equipment and will open at the end of 2019. "The hotel project gave the visible starting signal for investment activity in the ICE-City, and with a current expression of interest procedure, we are tackling the next project," says Sabine Wosche. "We are addressing investors for the construction of the first of two high-rise buildings on Stauffenbergallee – Tower West is intended to provide space for offices, conferences and retail." The trade fair appearance of the Free State is organized by the Thuringian Ministry of Economics and LEG Thüringen. On Tuesday, October 9, the traditional Thuringia event will take place at the joint stand from 6:30 p.m.
