Exclusive Meeting of Champions in Jena

An extraordinary meeting of champions took place in Jena at the end of May: Under the motto "ChampionsMEET Thuringia: Business meets Football", the LEG held its second meeting of global market and technology leaders from the Free State. In the run-up to the European Championship, the event took place in the Jena Football Arena – in the presence of World Cup winner and DFB Sports Director Rudi Völler, and with the opportunity for all guests to watch the national team's public training session at the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld.

In March 2023, the Thuringian Ministry of Economics and LEG launched the campaign “Hidden Champions – Thuringia's World Market and Technology Leaders“. Since then, LEG has awarded nearly 100 companies that deliver top performance and are at the forefront of the market. The ChampionsMEET brings together politics, LEG, and the Hidden Champions and facilitates exchange. At the second edition of the event, six new world market and technology leaders were honored at the end of May. The star guest was Rudi Völler; in addition, the team psychologist of the German national team, Prof. Hans-Dieter Hermann, gave an inspiring lecture. Afterwards, the participants were spectators at the public training session of Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Thomas Müller and Co. The background was the fact that the DFB team was a guest at the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land (Blankenhain) for a week prior to the European Championship; LEG supported this on behalf of the state with a series of infrastructure measures, including the construction and operation of the media center as well as the renovation of the municipal sports field and the castle square.
