Enchanting: Thuringia erects the largest witch's broom in the world

Thuringia, as an attractive economic and residential location, has a number of superlatives to offer, and soon an extraordinary highlight will be added: In the northernmost tip of the Free State, in the town of Rothesütte, an observation tower in the shape of the largest witch's broom in the world will rise into the sky by 2025.

Fans of magic and sorcery have long known it, and countless tourists have been drawn by it: The Harz, a charming nature and adventure region, is closely intertwined with the mysterious world of witches – among other things, the female mythical creatures regularly meet on the highest mountain of the Harz, the Brocken, for the witches' sabbath. The new tower adds another attraction to the popular magic: Its gleaming white steel structure, which is currently taking shape as part of the ongoing construction work, is reminiscent of the twigs of a witch's broom. At a height of 70 meters, the tower will present a fantastic-magical exhibition and a bewitched adventure forest experience play world. Families with children can reach the top via an elevator, and the way down can be taken rapidly via one of two slides. The tourist attraction is a project of the "Harzer Hexenreich", a tourism project of the Nordhausen district, realized by the Service Gesellschaft and the Harzer Hexenreich GmbH and funded by the Thuringian Ministry of Economics with a total of 10.1 million euros from GRW funds.
