A 16-member delegation of business and scientific experts from Thuringia visited the greater Boston area as part of a company trip. Discussions at the German Consulate General and the German-American Chamber of Commerce in New York were on the agenda. The participants, primarily from the fields of optics, sensor technology, robotics, mechanical engineering, and plastics, also established Contact with the company Kasalis, a subsidiary of the US corporation Jabil, who is already based in Jena, as well as at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
In the greater Rochester area, the VR glasses professional Vuzix and the University of Rochester visited.
