Commitment

Numerous boxes of toys and clothing delight the young recipients

For the 14th time: Employees of LEG Thüringen donate useful goods for the Bummi department store in Erfurt / Bringing joy to children

Especially during the Advent season that is now beginning, the Bummi department store, run by the AWO Alten-, Jugend- und Sozialhilfe (AJS) gGmbH, is receiving a great response – many parents with low incomes shop here on Erfurt's Thomasstraße and can purchase inexpensive gifts for their children in the facility for the most beautiful holiday of the year – from toys and clothing to books. For many, this is the only way to delight their little ones with a nice present on Christmas Eve.

The employees of LEG Thüringen are happy to make a contribution year after year and have again been diligently collecting over the past few weeks: A large number of moving boxes full of games, puzzles, musical instruments, dolls, books, school bags, roller skates, painting supplies, clothing, shoes, rocking horses, etc. came together in this year's donation campaign. Today, Thursday, November 27, department head Michael Russ and Simone Otto from the LEG department for personnel and skilled worker management presented the donations to Sonja Tragboth, head of the children and youth welfare department at the AWO state association, as well as to Maria Böwe, a full-time employee at the department store.

"In 2012, we carried out the donation campaign for the Bummi department store for the first time, and since then we have been on site every year in the run-up to Christmas to hand over the good gifts," say Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, managing directors of LEG. "We are pleased that the willingness to donate among our workforce remains so high and that joy is created through our joint commitment."
