Looking back on the first half of the year, highlights include participation in the Optics and Photonics International Exhibition (OPIE) in Japan for the first time, a market exploration trip to the Western Balkans, and a B2B matchmaking event in Italy. The second half of the year sees the start of the trade fair season, including joint stands at the CIOE – China International Optoelectronics Exposition in Shenzhen, the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, and the Precision Fair in the Netherlands. In September, the team will travel to Georgia and Armenia to explore new markets, followed by a trip to Texas and Mexico in October. The final delegation trip of the year, led by Minister-President Bodo Ramelow, will take them to Vietnam to strengthen relations between Thuringia and Vietnam in the areas of skilled worker recruitment, economic cooperation, and scientific collaboration. Throughout the autumn, the LEG's foreign trade team will offer informational events on topics such as procurement channels, the influence of geopolitics on foreign trade, and new markets. (maa)
