Hotel of the extra class shows: Thuringia is also a top location for tourism

Successful completion of a megaproject: In the last quarter of 2022, the Familux Resort “The Grand Green Oberhof“, a hotel of the highest class, opened its doors. 110 suites, up to 15 luxury chalets, as well as attractive areas for wellness, sports, and children's fun, will offer plenty of space for vacationers with children in the future. The luxury hotel was launched by the Austrian hotelier family Mayer; the location is the internationally known winter sports resort of Oberhof in southern Thuringia, which will host the luge and biathlon world championships in the coming weeks.

The new house presents itself in a high-class manner, exclusively welcoming families with children as guests: In addition to excellent standards and upscale dining, it offers a wide range of activities for young and old alike for an eventful vacation regardless of the season – including an in-house cinema, an indoor go-kart track, soft play facilities, a virtual reality room, a bathing and sauna landscape (with outdoor pool), as well as a ski practice and sledding slope. The name “The Grand Green“ is literally the program, because the hotel's orientation and furnishings are based on nature-related materials, and the experience program offers many activities centered around the themes of nature and the environment – absolutely fitting, as Oberhof is located in one of Germany's most beautiful natural landscapes, the Thuringian Forest. “The new hotel sets standards for forward-looking vacations – the investors' decision for Thuringia shows that our state is an absolute top location for tourism“, says LEG Managing Director Andreas Krey. LEG supported the Mayer Group with advice and action at every step up to the realization of the project. The investment volume was around 65 million euros, with the state of Thuringia contributing approximately 20 percent in grant funding. Currently, 140 employees are working for the guests, and recruitment succeeded smoothly, also thanks to many Thuringians returning home. (hw)
