ERFURT_ Exercise does good – and with exercise you can do a lot of good. On the occasion of its 30-year company anniversary, LEG organized an internal movement challenge for its employees in the spring, where one euro of donation money was credited for each kilometre covered. A variety of sports could be practiced, which were then converted into kilometres. In the end, 5,000 euros were collected, which on Tuesday, 19 July 2022, were handed over proportionally to three charitable initiatives. “A company anniversary is a good occasion to strengthen togetherness and also do good”, explain Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, management of LEG. “We are pleased that our staff has participated so engagely in the anniversary action and that we can support people who commit themselves to others with our donation.“
The donations were presented by representatives of the three most successful teams, Nicole Spading, Cassandra Suckert and Holger Wiemers. Utensils were used that characterize the social work of the recipients. The donations were received by:
- Die Bunten Schafe e. V., an association that, together with Lebenshilfe Erfurt, advocates for healthy break-time meals for children from socially disadvantaged families – at the handover, the association was represented by Melanie Thurm and Stefan Reichert. The symbolic check was presented in one of several lunch boxes.
- Erfurter Seelensteine e. V., an association that offers a point of contact for children of mentally ill parents and for the parents themselves – Antje Deutschendorf accepted the symbolic check and a flower pot with “Seelensteine”
- Streetwork Erfurt (Erfurt Youth Welfare Office), a youth social work service that includes on-site support, care, and activation – up to the provision of furnished emergency accommodations. For Streetwork Erfurt, Christin Garlik (Youth Welfare Office), Lara Netsch, and Susann Langner (street workers) were on site; a mirror with an inscription of the donation check contents was used.
