India is an incredibly dynamic market, and for Thuringia there are enormous opportunities for cooperation here – this was the conclusion drawn by the participants of a business mission that took a delegation from the Free State to southern India in early May. The stops on the trip were the cities of Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, and Hyderabad; in addition to the topic of market entry/business establishment, the issue of skilled worker recruitment was on the agenda for the first time. The delegation attended appointments with industrial companies and research institutions – among the places visited were the German companies Schwing Stedter and ZF Windpower as well as the T-Hub in Hyderabad, the world's largest innovation center of its kind. All participants benefited not only from the concrete Contacts but also from the spirit and innovative impulses that arose from the encounter with the Indian partners – and this provides fresh motivation for the upcoming projects that Thüringen International offers to all who wish to build and expand their relationships with India.
Soon, namely on June 12, the 2. India-ASEAN Business Circle will take place. It offers a comprehensive update as well as diverse opportunities for exchange – participants will receive current information on trade with Asia with a special focus on India and can discuss specific topics and challenges of their choice. A bit further in the future, but already in sight, there is also an industry trip to India, which will take participants to Pune and Bangalore. The core of the trip is the joint visit of the Trade Fairs LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA and electronica india in Bangalore, which will take place from September 17 to 19 at an exhibition center. The number of Laser World exhibitors has steadily increased in recent years to 120 from 20 countries. At the electronica india presented themselves last year with nearly 600 exhibitors from over 25 countries.
The German-Indian Roundtable (GIRT) Thuringia also regularly provides further input for successful business with India. The meetings usually take place directly at a participating company, and each event features a specialist presentation followed by discussion.
