ERFURT_ It is especially important during initial conversations between interested professionals and potential employers: personal Contact face-to-face contact. In this regard, everyone involved is looking forward to the 9th edition of “comeback – der Thüringer Jobmesse für Pendler:innen & Rückkehrinteressierte“. It will take place on Saturday, September 24, for the first time in three years again “live“ at the COMCENTER Brühl in Erfurt, Mainzerhofstraße 10; in 2021 there was a digital edition. Between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., 50 exhibitors – all companies, associations, and industry networks based in Thuringia – will present their job offers, training positions, and internships. The organizer is the Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF), which is based at LEG.
“If we want to counter the foreseeable shortage of skilled workers in the coming years, we must seize every opportunity. The comeback job fair offers those willing to return and commuters a great opportunity to get to know new and innovative companies in Thuringia and to talk to potential employers from the regions. The format has established itself as a fixed event over the past ten years, and I am all the more pleased that the fair can take place in person again this year,” said Heike Werner, Thuringia's Minister of Labor and patron of the comeback.
“Ten years ago we carried out the first comeback in Erfurt. What applied then applies even more today: Our Thuringian companies urgently need skilled workers, want them to continue to be successful in the market and to grow,” explains LEG managing director Sabine Wosche ahead of the fair. “Commuters and people interested in returning are among the skilled workers whose outreach is absolutely worthwhile, and at the same time many of these people want to return to the domestic labour market. Our comeback offers the ideal platform where both sides can get to know each other ..” Currently, according to the Federal Employment Agency, about 125,000 Thuringians commute to work in other federal states, including over 33,000 to Bavaria, over 21,000 to Hesse and over 22,000 to Saxony.
Companies from all sectors have announced their participation in the trade fair, including Bauerfeind AG, Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH (CATT/CATL), EPC Engineering & Technologies GmbH, Sparkasse Mittelthüringen, the IT service provider Ibykus, and N3 Engine Overhaul Services GmbH & Co. KG as a company for aircraft engine maintenance. The 50 exhibitors have currently published 1080 job listings in the Thuringian Job And Applicant Exchange of the ThAFF.
At the job fair, visitors can have professional application photos taken free of charge. In the large application folder check, the ThAFF team is happy to take a look at the visitors' documents and provide valuable tips. Admission to the fair is free.
The Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) has been based at the Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen mbH (LEG Thüringen) since 2011 and is funded with funds from the Free State of Thuringia.
